Production Stages

Ozturkler Leather production stages:

Raw Material Selection: The selection of the raw materials suitable for the finished leather to be produced constitutes the key point of our leather production. For this reason, the most suitable raw material for the finished leather is selected in line with customer requests.
Beamhouse Operations: Preparation of the rawhide for tanning is carried out. The hide is prepared for tanning by soaking, dehairing, mechanical processes (fleshing and splitting), deliming and removing unnecessary proteins. These processes cover a whole of 3-4 days.
Tanning Process: Beamhouse processed leathers are acidified for proper uptake of chrome tanning agent. After this process called pickling, the leathers are taken to ‘Chrome Tanning’ process. The tanning process with pickling continues for 2 days. After tanning, the skins are kept in stacks.
Classification (Assortment): Wet-Blue leathers are sorted into different classes, especially grain quality, and asorted in order to create batches suitable for the finished leather character.
Mechanical Processes After Tanning: Sammying and shaving operations are performed on the leathers.
Wet End Processes: The wet blues are subjected to dyeing-retanning-fatliquoring processes in order to colour, fullness and soften them. This process is completed in 2 days.
Drying processes and dry mechanical processes: After the chemical processes (Beamhouse, Tanning, Wet End) are completed, the leathers are firstly taken to Seeting-Out to remove excess water and wrinkles and then to Vacuum Drying-Hanger Drying or Wet toggle drying processes in accordance with the characteristics of the finished leather. Afterwards, the leather is subjected to mechanical processes such as staking, dry milling and buffing.
Finishing Processes: With surface treatments suitable for the characteristics of the finished leather, the service life and attractiveness of the leather are increased and the final appearance features are gained. Finishing processes are comprehensive processes including many different surface treatments and mechanical processes. Thus, the leather is made ready for the use of the leather product manufacturer.
